Policy Change, RE:
No Shows/Cancellations
As announced on the March 15 Webinar, we have seen an 87% increase in no shows for classes and webinars. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to increase our no show fees in hopes of preventing these unwanted attendance issues.
After discussion from the board of directors there will be adjustments made to the fees listed and shared below. Fees and adjustments to these policies will be in place and available for review in your student handbook by April 25, 2023 (*Fees posted in previous newsletter will be lowered)
Changes to policies will remain in effect and will be effective as of April 17,2023
Rescheduling fees/no show fees will apply for all of the below:
- Session A’s
- Session B’s
- Exam Days/Exam
- Webinars *Mandatory Webinars Only; see your course for details
- Student Spa Shifts
- Skills Exhibit
- Rescheduling Fee
What is defined as a no show?
Students are marked as no show by an instructor when they have not arrived to the facility before the doors lock (the facility is locked 10 minutes before class starts).
No show fees can be avoided in the event of an emergency, so long as the student notifies the school prior to the start of class. An emergency is defined as illness, death in the family, or cancellation of scheduled childcare. A doctors note, obituary, or notice from your childcare provider must be provided to your Student Advisor via email (advisor@eietrainingcentre.ca) in order for your rescheduling fee to be waived.
You may notify the school via phone or email prior to the start of class; proof of a valid reason must be provided to be rescheduled by a member of our team at no charge. Failure to provide a valid reason for your absence will result in you needing to pay the full course fee upon booking your new date online.
Students required to pay a rescheduling fee can now do so directly in the practical booking platform (Vagaro). If you are not required to pay a rescheduling fee, your Student Advisor will work with you to reschedule your class to a suitable date. (Payments through the system will begin April 17, 2023 for any no shows/late cancellations/etc as listed)
Changes will be in effect as of April 17, 2023 and updates to your student handbook will be posted on April 25, 2023
