In-Class Model Requirements

We have updated our Student Handbook as of September 18, 2026 regarding missed in class models.

🗓️ When does happen?

Although the updated policy is now included in the Student Handbook, the new requirement will not take effect until November 1, 2026. This gives all students time to review the updated policy and prepare for the change.

What is changing?

Effective November 1, 2026, a 5 mark deduction will apply for each missed in class model.

Hands on practice is an important part of your education and plays a key role in developing your skills, confidence, and consistency before working with clients in the industry.

We understand that finding models can sometimes be challenging and that unexpected cancellations or no shows can happen. However, students are expected to make every effort to secure and attend their required models.

What if my model cancels?

If your model cancels on the same day or does not show up, please keep your communication with the model as documentation.

Your instructor may request this information when determining whether the missed model deduction should apply.

Why are we making this change?

Completing your required in class models provides valuable hands on practice and allows your instructor to assess your work, provide feedback, and help you build confidence in your practical skills.

This update is intended to encourage students to actively secure their models and complete their practical requirements, while still allowing for reasonable consideration when an unexpected last minute cancellation or no show occurs.
